Forbløffende - Wednesday, March 2nd

I have been writing this blog as we go along, but haven't been able to post it online until now. So I will be posting from a bunch of different days today!

So we have finally arrived in Rosendal, Norway after 28 hours of travel including 3 planes, a boat, a bus, and about 10 hours of layovers! The trip was very long, and we are all exhausted, but we are thrilled to be here! The cabin is really nice and we can’t believe we get to live here for the next 8 weeks. Rosendal is absolutely gorgeous and I can already tell I’m going to love it here. The first night we went to our principal, Stein’s, house to eat dinner. We were completely worn out from our long hours of travel, but we were still very excited to meet him and his wife. They were very hospitable and I can tell we are going to love being around them! They are so funny and they want to help us out as much as possible. They made us chicken and rice and salad for dinner…it was very good! After dinner, we spent some time talking to them and getting information about the next couple days.

When we got back to our cabin, we got all of our stuff settled in and started to make plans for the following days! We definitely want to do some exploring and we need to head to the grocery store at sometime. Our fridge is about the size of a dorm fridge and we have 5 people so we have decided we will be making frequent trips to the grocery store! We think this will be a fun way to get out of the cabin and walk around…and it’s only about a 5 min walk away so that will be nice! The cabin is very cute and we have a lot of room.  Also, we have everything we could possibly need…except a microwave! Guess we will have to learn to cook real meals! (good thing I am with 4 people who all like to cook!) Haha My school is actually right in our backyard which will be very convenient. (especially since I like to sleep in as late as possible J ) We will find out some more tomorrow about our class schedule and what time we will be in school. As of now, I have absolutely no clue what I will be teaching but I am very excited!

Unfortunately we don’t get internet in our cabin but we can get on the internet at the school.  We were given a key to the school so we will able to get on whenever we want to.

Well, I think it’s about time to head to bed since I have only slept about 2 hours in the past 48 hours! Hopefully we can avoid jet lag! (though Rob insists this doesn’t exist anyway… haha)

Here are a couple pictures of our cabin.

And here's the wonderful view from my window!

Forbløffende = Amazing (which is the best word to describe this place so far!)
